Seriously just paid a buck for an empty app.
Seriously just paid a buck for an empty app.
why pay for an app that is blank and empty; you pay for an empty app and have to do all the work yourself.
The app contains absolutely nothing. The app is nothing more than a book cover and you are expected to scribe the spells yourself. Apple should be ashamed that they allow this hack to charge their customers for this POS...
Should be free since you get no spells from the app
Have to upload the spells to the app. Its not hard to do. url found on Reddit. Just search spelldata.json and there will be a link you copy and past. Peace
Impulse buy, I want my fall or back!!!
Super easy to use once you find the link on Reddit. Wish I could swipe out of spells rather than having to press X to close the window, but thats minor in comparison to its utility. I hated having to dig through PDFs to try and find spells. This makes my life easier as an avid character creator.
Well the app is great but way to complicated I wish I didnt have to go through a long process if I could I wouldnt have bought it because of the over complication. I wish it was free because we are paying to get it now not to spend 30 mins doing this crap
Let me first clear help clear up your confusion. I, like you, saw the amount of one star ratings and was tempted not to buy, but I really wanted a tool like this. YES- there are NO preloaded spells. It is incredibly easy to load them, all you have to do is click on the menu in the top left and paste a link, and the spells are loaded. I thought I was going to need more steps but I didnt. Theres no other way to say this, but the people who are giving this app one-star because the spell book is blank are the same people who have to read the instructions on pop-tart packages. The app allows you to sort by class, level, and the domain, school or whatever thing it is for your class. You can type any spell to search for it. The only downside is that you cant save spells to your own personal list. It would be awesome to be able to create a list within the app for your character(s), but there is no such option. Overall, this app is well worth it for any D&D player who is frequently dealing with spells.
Yes the app is only .99. Yes buying this app you know you need to load your your spells. The positive reviews would lead you to believe there is a simple link you need to paste to be done. There is no easily provided file on the publishers website to download. You need to manually copy the stats from the 5e manual into a spell created which will then output txt for each spell you can then copy into a jsom file. After youve spent hours doing this you then need to upload to Dropbox and download to your app using a link you will need to provide. You can bypass the issues due to some people already building a spell-book and publishing their data via reddit. Please be warned that anyone who is not tech savvy will find this process difficult.
Just an empty spell book...not worth the money after all the work you have to do...
I bought this thinking it would be a complete spell book, which it is not, and to the people who are saying its easy to import the spells, its not, how hard would it have been for the developers to import the spells themselves??? This is piss poor app development and a waste of my time and money.
The spellbook is blank.
The app works fine. You just have to import the spells, probably for copyright reasons. Just click developer site or look in the description. In fact, you can even make your own homebrew Spells with a bit of know how. Also, please leave a five star rating to counterbalance the people who dont know how to use the app and left a negative rating.
This is not worth the money! You have a bunch of other things to download and it doesnt work with iOS I tried many times and ever worked. Save your money and wait for something that works.
I want to like this, but when I go to the website, it just loads me back to the App Store. Its not telling me how to load spells. So, hopefully this isnt a widespread issue.
The setup is as easy as copy and pasting a link.
Dev owner wants users to populate to create a spellbook. I am not going to build your app for you. Take this app down, waste of my time
You MUST go to the developer web site to get instruction and you must go to reddit to get the data and you will need a web address for the app. I used my google drive without a problem. If you can do these things and follow simple instruction then get this app.
I like the app, just one thing that I dont get though. Why cant the app be preloaded with spells?
